The Ernakulam District Administration collaborated with CDF to assign a group of student volunteers from Model Engineering College (MEC) a student project. The objective of the project was to train senior citizens from three Ernakulam District Gram Panchayats as part of the Ernakulam District Administration’s Digital Literacy Programme. The students were tasked with empowering senior citizens with knowledge and confidence to make the most of digital technologies while avoiding potential harm from fraudulent practices in the hyper-digital ecosystem. To prepare them for this, CDF conducted a one-day training workshop on various aspects of information literacy from a cyber-safety perspective to equip them with basic information literacy skills. On completing the first round of the training program, the student volunteers were awarded a certificate for gaining basic information literacy skills.
