Citizen Digital Foundation (CDF) is a non-profit organisation based in Trivandrum, Kerala, dedicated to promoting safe and responsible navigation and innovation in the digital ecosystem. CDF works to influence systems changes to maximise the advantages and minimise the harms of existing and emerging digital technologies. CDF’s work addresses issues related to digital distraction, online child safety, attention-harvesting, subconscious behaviour manipulation, mis/disinformation, polarisation, and teenage mental health through interventions, consultancy, and advisory services for various stakeholders such as students, educators, parents, media, corporates, technologists, entrepreneurs and policy makers and other government entities. We do this by fostering Information Literacy, and advocating Responsible Tech, and AI Governance.

Manager/Senior Executive – Programmes

CDF is looking for Manager/Senior Executive – Programmes to lead and direct the programmes team. The role will be responsible to develop and manage strategic and tactical programmes, fundraising and outreaches for collaborations with key entities that align with our mission and goals. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in developing and executing programmes and partnerships, as well as strong relationship-building and communication skills.

This role is only for candidates based in Trivandrum.

Job description:

  • Work with the founding team to determine short-term and long-term strategic and tactical programme plans and lead the implementation.
  • Autonomously own and drive multiple CDF programmes – including research, conceptualisation, planning, budgeting, communications, stakeholder management, implementation, and documentation of projects from end to end.
  • Initiate and drive community building and allied initiatives.
  • Reach out, partner with coordinate with stakeholders – NGOs, educational institutions, government bodies, businesses – to further drive CDF’s programmes.
  • Identify grants and funding opportunities and reach potential donors to raise funds.
  • End-to-end responsibility of MIS systems.
  • Understand and comply with legal and regulatory requirements in creating, maintaining and updating documents that track the progress and delivery of programmes.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the digital technologies space and their interactions with society.
  • Consistently strive to deliver towards CDF’s goals and commitment to the society.

The ideal candidate would possess:

  • 5+ years’ experience in the social sector or educational institutions, developing and executing partnerships.
  • A Master’s degree, preferably in social sciences/humanities.
  • Good command over English and Malayalam.
  • Excellent organisational & communication skills.
  • High levels of resourcefulness and enterprise.
  • Exceptional networking and persuasion skills.
  • Excellent tech proficiency, and quick adaptability at learning new software skills. Proficiency in Canva, Notion, project management tools like Whimsical/Monday/Meister/Trello etc is preferable.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, solutions-driven and a growth mindset.

Salary: Between 5.5-6 LPA, depending on experience and background

Project Officer

This role is only for candidates based in Trivandrum.

Job description:

Outreaches, project and stakeholder management:

  • Reach out, partner, and coordinate projects and all related collaterals with stakeholders – NGOs, corporates, educational institutions, government bodies.
  • Autonomously own and drive multiple CDF projects – including research, conceptualisation, planning, communications, stakeholder management, implementation, and end to end documentation of projects and initiatives.
  • Budgeting – Draft and organise projections for each project, track actual buys and spends, maintain invoices and see payments through. Collaborate with financial/accounting verticals for seamless and error-proof execution.
  • Identify partnership avenues, reach out through various networks, and conduct exploratory calls.
  • Identifying suitable vendors and stakeholders for the execution of each project and negotiating logistics, costs, payment windows with them.
  • Managing partnerships effectively, and with sensitivity, through field visits, calls, LinkedIn conversations etc.
  • Drive execution of thematic meets, workshops, training programs, etc.

Knowledge management & documentation:

  • Effectively document information, outcomes and learning pertaining to the project, including field visits, proceedings of meets and conferences, videos, reports, surveys etc.
  • Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of communications on all channels – creative and reporting.

The ideal candidate would possess:

  • A Master’s degree
  • Track record and interest in social sector, education, L&D preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Malayalam
  • Ability to build relationships, and network with ease
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, organised, and detail-oriented
  • Adaptability, and autonomous working abilities
  • High levels of resourcefulness. A knack of knowing where and how to look for solutions of a problem and coming up with creative ways of resolving them.

  • Proficiency in Canva, MS PowerPoint, project management tools like Whimsical/Monday/Meister/Trello.

Lead/Executive – Administration

This role is only for candidates based in Trivandrum.

Job description:

  • Managing day-to-day operations and logistics as briefed by the Directors.
  • MIS management
  • Fundraising logistics.
  • Customer Relationship Management.
  • Maintaining HR records.
  • Ensure adherence to organisations’ policies & procedures and other regulations related to compliance.
  • Liaison with partners & allied organisations.
  • General Administration.

The ideal candidate would possess:

  • A Master’s degree, preferably in Commerce.
  • Good command over English and Malayalam.
  • Exceptional organisational  & communication skills.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with MIS systems.
  • Quick adaptability at learning new software skills
  • Drive and self-motivation.
  • Proactive, solutions-driven mindset.

Salary: Upto 3.6 LPA.

Communications Officer

Job Description:

  • Develop, create, and manage content for CDF’s internal and external communication channels, including social media, newsletters, blogs, and websites.
  • Actively create communications content for all CDF social media channels.
  • Preparation and delivery of press releases, media alerts and social media campaigns.
  • Proactively engage with stakeholders and collaborators – NGOs, corporates, educational institutions, media, influencers, government bodies – to create communications opportunities that help further CDF’s mission.
  • Concept to execution of campaigns that forward CDF’s mission and values.
  • Research and write reports, keep records and other documentation of CDF updated.
  • Maintain and engage with CDF’s media and community database.
  • Ensure CDF website, LMS, CRM, and other background systems are up to date.
  • Research and write for suitable grants and funding opportunities.
  • Assist in organising and promoting CDF events and programmes through effective communication strategies.

The ideal candidate would possess:

  • A Master’s degree preferably in Journalism, Communications or Media Studies.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in communications, preferably in the social sector.
  • Original English writing skills, critical search skills, and understanding of basic Gen-AI tools.
  • Self-motivation, and a proactive, autonomous approach to work are strongly desired.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in English (and Malayalam is a plus).
  • Adept with digital communication platforms and social media.
  • Ability to create quick, engaging content tailored to different audiences.
  • Expert knowledge of Canva, MS Office, Google Suite,
  • High levels of creativity, an open mind, and an eye for detail.
  • Adaptability to quickly learn new software skills, and project management tools.
