Challenge: CDF partnered with the Nottingham Business School, UK for an MSc. student consultancy project. We aimed to assess data privacy and security practices and assessment in corporate enterprises through a diagnostic survey which the students built as part of the project. The survey assessing privacy and security processing within organisations sought to align employee perceptions with organisational vision. The findings of the survey were intended to identify improvement areas and enhance trust. As independent consultants, the students were tasked with evaluating and designing the survey, considering CDF’s goals of accountability in the Indian digital business landscape.
Project summary: The report’s scope of research was to understand the political, economic, social, legal, and environmental challenges faced by the digital industries in India; to health check the survey designed by CDF and to recommend changes by understanding our vision and mission. The students conducted secondary research on PESTLE factors and analysed case studies where similar surveys had been carried out by companies in the past. They proposed shortening the length of the survey by splitting the survey into two and making use of simple language to increase the sensible response rate.
