Report – GTG with Kerala Police counsellors

Abstract: For the second iteration of CDF Good Tech Guru, Citizen Digital Foundation custom-designed and conducted a two-day training programme for mental health counsellors under Kerala Police Cyberdome ,dedicated to helping children develop healthier digital habits and ensure a safer online experience. CDF Good Tech Guru is the Train-the-Trainer (ToT) component of the Good Tech Campaign designed for selected educators with a focus on strengthening information literacy. Recognising the role of the counsellors on the frontlines, the programme focused on preventive measures, inculcating critical thinking among children, designing engaging sessions for better retention and identifying and enabling student representatives to act as first responders. The counsellors have already begun applying these new approaches in school across Kerala. This report documents the key concepts covered, learning outcomes and insights from the counsellors across the 2 days of training.
